Barbosa-Lima, Carlos

first touched the guitar when he was 9 years old and by the time he was 13, he had already given successful concerts in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, and had recorded his first LP. His teachers were Isaias Savio (recommended to Carlos by Luiz Bonfá, another pupil of Savio) & B.Moreira. In 1968 he gave his first USA concert (encouraged by Sophocles Papas), and many tours and concerts all over the world followed. In Europe, he appeared for the first time in Paris, in 1974. Now, Carlos Barbosa-Lima lives in New York, appears in concerts all over the world and he has a very active recording career.
