, a renowned guitarist and composer of the early 19th century, was born in Bisceglie, Italy, in 1781. He started his musical studies as a cellist. In 1806, he moved to Vienna because there was a larger community of guitarists there than in Italy. He was so popular that there was a magazine, The Giulianiad, established by his royal fans in his honor. Giuliani later returned to Italy in 1819, where he met Rossini in Rome. He spent his last years in Naples where he died in 1829.
